The personal escape

Everyday I sit on this tree
Moving on at the slightest danger
Then I look to the world below
Humans being bothered by everyday troubles
So I think hard
What do they do to be at peace?

Then I saw a girl
Who sat below my home
I watched from above
With a flash of confusion
What was this girl doing?
SHe just sat and closed her eyes
As if she din't care she was
The world still troubled
While she just sits here ignoring
Then I saw it
She was at peace
This is the escape for peace
A mother playing the piano
A boy writing a poem
And a father reading a newspaper
All their own personal escape for peace.

Notes :
Yes, this poem is writen about something we all do. To escape what we call the troubles in life even if just for a second. I decided of creating a character that shall observe in this poem. Which I hope you don't mistake for a monkey. The character is actually a squirel. The second line in the first stanza will prove that. Well, anyway in this poem I talk about something we humans do to be at peace. Like me, I use poetry and music to be at peace. Sometimes, people like the girl mentioned in the poem sits alone under a tree away from people closing the eyes to be at peace for a moment. But this escape for peace is actually not always going somewhere or listening to music. It can also be as mentioned above writing poetry, drawing, talking and even eating! Yes, I know sounds weird but I do have a friend who does it to be at peace. Sometimes this personal escape is not even seen! It is in our minds or our hearts. Which is probally mostly refered to as daydreaming.....Oh, one more thing if you would like to ask about where I got the idea to do this. Well, I would just like to tell you that I have one answer only for where I get the idea for all the poems I write. Which is LIFE.

Emillio darling,

This is ibu's favourite.

It's so poetic how you make it from a squirrel's point of view.... and how you relate it to your life experiences and obeservation.

:)

Clearly, my all time favourite.

Emil,

Sorry I am not being "timely" with reading blogs and updating mine! But am in 100% agreement with your ibu, this is a great piece!

To me, be it music, writing poems, writing blogs, coffee-talk with friends, expensive or cheap holidays... it's all about you... what keeps you going, what lift up your spirit, what keeps you sane and most important of all... what makes you who you are!
